Medium Grey Underglaze for Detailed Brushwork
Elephant Grey Cromartie Colours Underglaze gives ceramic decoration a balanced medium-grey tone suited to animal details, stone-inspired effects, shading and neutral areas. The understated colour works well where you want defined painted detail without introducing a stronger hue, while the 59ml squeeze bottle is a practical size for testing the shade, smaller pieces and detailed brushwork.
Choose this smaller bottle when you need Elephant Grey for occasional use, test pieces or fine areas rather than a larger studio quantity. Build the colour with two to three coats when a fuller grey result is required, then cover with your choice of clear glaze before firing. Cone 6 stoneware firing can create colour changes compared with lower-temperature results.
- Suitable for brushwork, sgraffito, sponging and layering
- Can be combined with Cromartie Crystals and other ceramic glazes
- Suitable for traditional Majolica techniques when applied over an opaque, non-moving glaze
