Coming soon to Cromartie - GR Pottery Forms clay drape moulds and pottery tools are designed to help ceramic artists create consistent hand-built plates, platters, bowls, trays and shallow dishes from clay slabs. These lightweight wood fibreboard forms are a popular choice for slab building, pottery workshops, ceramic studios and home potters who want reliable shapes without the bulk of traditional plaster moulds.
Originally developed by production potter Jeff Rottman, GR Pottery Forms are made from cut and bevelled fibreboard, giving potters a durable, reusable and budget-friendly way to create repeatable pottery shapes. They are especially useful for making matching dinnerware sets, serving platters and decorative clay pieces, while still leaving plenty of room for your own surface decoration, texture, carving, underglaze work and glaze design.
Use GR Pottery Forms with rolled clay slabs to shape your work as the clay firms up. Their slim profile makes them easy to handle, store and use in busy studios, classrooms and pottery painting or hand-building workshops. Ideal for beginners learning slab building techniques as well as experienced makers producing consistent ceramic forms.
