Gare Fun Strokes Underglazes for Bisque and Pottery Painting

Gare Fun Strokes undercoat colours are a versatile ceramic underglaze range for bisque and pottery painting. Use them for painted detail, overall colour, brushwork and decorative ceramic designs where you want flexible fired colour before adding a clear glaze.

Apply one coat for a translucent finish, or build up 2–3 coats for stronger opaque coverage. The range also gives you useful decorating freedom, including the ability to apply lighter colours over darker colours before clear glazing and firing.

This page is for the main Gare Fun Strokes underglaze range. For a narrower speckled effect option, browse the Fun Strokes Fleckles underglazes range.

Application Guide

  • Apply to: shelf cone 04 bisque
  • Preparation: sponge ware to remove dust before decorating
  • Coverage: 1 coat for translucent colour or 2–3 coats for opaque coverage
  • Clear glaze: apply clear glaze before firing
  • Fire to: shelf cone 06
  • Use for: bisque painting, ceramic underglaze colour and pottery decorating projects

For best results, let each coat dry before adding the next and test colour combinations before using them on important pieces, especially when layering light and dark colours or changing clear glaze and firing conditions.
