Explore LoStone Mid-Fire Glazes by Valentine Clays, a collection of 550ml brush-on pottery glazes featuring nine colours and a clear translucent glaze, coming soon to Cromartie. Developed to complement the LoStone clay range, these glazes offer a versatile palette for exploring colour, layering and reactive surface effects.
The collection has an overall firing range of 1080°C–1220°C, with the character of the glazes developing as the temperature increases. Between 1080°C and 1120°C, finishes are more consistent and non-reactive. Between 1120°C and 1220°C, reactive qualities develop, bringing greater movement, variation and depth to the glazed surface.
Use LoStone glazes individually, intermix them to explore new shades, or layer colours to create different surface effects. The range offers plenty of scope to experiment with colour combinations and firing temperatures. Each glaze is supplied in a 550ml brush-on container with a reusable inner cap.
Alongside LoStone clay, these glazes can also be used with suitable porcelain and earthenware bodies. Always follow the application and firing information on the individual glaze product page, choose a temperature appropriate to both your clay and glaze, and test your chosen combination on a tile before glazing a finished piece.
