Cromartie Quality Review – Temporarily Paused Items (October 2025)

As part of our continued commitment to quality and reliability, we’re carrying out additional in-house testing on a small number of functional bisqueware pieces. While this review takes place, we’ve temporarily paused sales of these specific items as a precaution to ensure every product continues to meet our standards for performance and consistency.

This affects only a very small selection of items within our bisqueware range, which includes hundreds of designs - the vast majority of our bisque remains completely unaffected, and the items currently under review are from container batches received from April 2025 onwards only. Because the issue isn’t limited to specific boxes of these items within that timeframe, we’re unable to identify precise batch numbers at this stage; however, current testing suggests that many of the paused lines are likely to be unaffected.

If you’ve already received items that appear on the list, we recommend setting those aside from customer use temporarily until testing is complete. If you’d like to continue using these lines, we suggest reserving them for in-house use where possible - for example, staff tests, sample firings, or internal projects rather than public studio work. That way, your customer pieces and Christmas keepsakes remain protected while we carry out further testing and source replacements for the paused items.

Replacement options for temporarily paused items are already en route to Cromartie and should begin arriving from early November.

If any pieces you’ve already decorated show issues after firing, please get in touch with our team here so we can discuss next steps - we want to find fair resolutions and help keep your studio running as smoothly as possible.

We completely understand that many studio owners have recently purchased stock and will be concerned about the financial impact of pausing these lines, especially at such a busy time of year. Supporting our customers is always our top priority, and this is precisely why we’re taking these steps. Once testing is complete and replacement stock has arrived, we’ll contact affected customers directly to arrange suitable options — whether that’s replacement stock, credit, or another fair alternative.
