Discover the BOTZ Edition Stoneware Engobe range, a collection of 15 high-quality brush-on liquid engobes designed for stoneware firing temperatures. Supplied in generous 800ml bottles, these versatile ceramic colours fire between 1180–1280°C (Cone 4–9) and offer excellent coverage with clean, well-defined decorative effects.
Apply the engobes in approximately 2–3 coats to create strong, even colour across your ceramic surface. When left unglazed, the fired finish is typically soft, gently matt and earthy in character. Apply a suitable transparent glaze over the top and the colours become brighter, more intense and glossy, giving you plenty of scope to vary the finished look of your work.
BOTZ Edition Stoneware Engobes can be mixed with other colours from the Edition range, making it easy to develop your own shades and decorative combinations. Their formulation helps them adhere well to the ceramic surface while providing a useful base beneath a covering glaze. Depending on the individual engobe and glaze combination used, selected finishes may also be suitable for functional or tableware pieces, so always check the recommendations for the products being combined.
