Shell Light - Studio Line 'By the Sea' Stoneware Reactive Glaze 550ml
Shell Light is a delicate Milton Bridge Studio Line 'By the Sea' reactive stoneware glaze, designed to create soft shell-inspired colour, glossy depth and naturally varied fired results. This reactive stoneware glaze develops gentle movement in the kiln, with pale coastal tones and subtle shifts that give each piece an individual finish.
With its light, shell-like appearance, this glaze is ideal for pottery pieces where you want a soft, elegant surface without overpowering the form. It works beautifully on mugs, bowls, vases, trinket dishes, textured ceramics and thrown stoneware pieces, especially where carved or raised detail can catch the glaze variation.
- Colour & finish: Pale shell-toned glaze with soft reactive variation and a glossy finish
- Firing range: Cone 4–9, approx. 1180–1280 °C
- Best for: Functional pottery, textured stoneware, coastal designs, mugs, bowls, vases and decorative ceramics
- Application: Stir well, then apply 2–3 even coats by brush, sponge or stamp, allowing each coat to dry
- Food safety: Food safe when fired to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature

Reactive glazes may move during firing, especially when applied heavily or used on vertical forms. We recommend testing first on your chosen clay body and avoiding thick application near the foot of the piece.
