Old Pier - Studio Line 'By the Sea' Stoneware Reactive Glaze 550ml
Old Pier is a dark, atmospheric Milton Bridge Studio Line 'By the Sea' reactive stoneware glaze, designed to create deep coastal colour, glossy depth and naturally varied fired effects. This reactive stoneware glaze develops dark brown, blackened wood and weathered pier-inspired tones, giving pottery pieces a dramatic shoreline finish.
With its moody, aged character, Old Pier is ideal for potters wanting a darker glaze with a strong natural feel. It suits mugs, bowls, vases, planters, sculptural ceramics and textured stoneware, especially where the reactive finish can break around edges and pool into carved or recessed areas.
- Colour & finish: Dark weathered brown with blackened pier tones and glossy reactive variation
- Firing range: Cone 4–9, approx. 1180–1280 °C
- Best for: Dramatic pottery, coastal ceramics, sculptural ware, mugs, bowls, vases and textured stoneware
- Application: Stir well, then apply 2–3 even coats by brush, sponge or stamp, allowing each coat to dry
- Food safety: Food safe when fired to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature

Reactive glazes can move and change depending on clay body, application thickness and kiln conditions. For best results, test first and avoid applying too heavily near the foot of the piece.
