Dark & Stormy - Studio Line 'By the Sea' Stoneware Reactive Glaze 550ml
Dark & Stormy is a deep blue-grey Milton Bridge Studio Line 'By the Sea' reactive stoneware glaze, designed to create dramatic coastal colour, glossy movement and naturally varied fired effects. This reactive stoneware glaze develops stormy sea tones in the kiln, giving pottery pieces a rich, atmospheric finish with plenty of depth.
This glaze is ideal for potters wanting a darker, moodier colour within the By the Sea range. Dark & Stormy works beautifully on mugs, bowls, vases, planters, sculptural ceramics and textured stoneware, particularly where the reactive finish can pool, break and highlight surface detail.
- Colour & finish: Dark stormy blue-grey with glossy reactive movement and deep tonal variation
- Firing range: Cone 2–6, approx. 1160–1240 °C
- Best for: Dramatic coastal pottery, mugs, bowls, vases, planters, sculptural pieces and textured stoneware
- Application: Stir well, then apply 2–3 even coats by brush, sponge or stamp, allowing each coat to dry
- Food safety: Food safe when fired to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature

Please note that Dark & Stormy has a lower firing range than most colours in the By the Sea collection. As with all reactive glazes, test first and avoid heavy application near the foot of the piece, especially on vertical forms where glaze movement may occur.
