Sea Kelp - Studio Line 'By the Sea' Stoneware Reactive Glaze 550ml
Sea Kelp is a dark, earthy Milton Bridge Studio Line 'By the Sea' reactive stoneware glaze, designed to create deep coastal colour, glossy movement and naturally varied fired effects. This reactive stoneware glaze develops seaweed-inspired green-brown tones with darker pooling and organic surface variation.
This glaze is perfect for potters wanting a richer, more atmospheric finish within the By the Sea range. Sea Kelp suits mugs, bowls, vases, planters, sculptural pieces and textured stoneware, especially where carved detail or uneven surfaces allow the reactive glaze to break and pool.
- Colour & finish: Deep sea kelp green-brown with glossy reactive movement and darker tonal variation
- Firing range: Cone 4–9, approx. 1180–1280 °C
- Best for: Earthy coastal pottery, mugs, bowls, vases, planters, sculptural ceramics and textured ware
- Application: Stir well, then apply 2–3 even coats by brush, sponge or stamp, allowing each coat to dry
- Food safety: Food safe when fired to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature

As with all reactive stoneware glazes, fired results may vary depending on glaze thickness, clay body and kiln conditions. Avoid applying too heavily near the base of pieces and test first before using on larger or vertical forms.
