Gare Surface Coats for Bisque Ceramics

Gare Surface Coats are fired ceramic colours for bisque that create a shiny gloss finish without needing clear glaze. They are designed as a smooth background colour for pottery painting, giving you a ready surface for decoration with Gare Fun Strokes underglazes before firing.

This range includes 10 non-toxic colours in 473ml bottles. Apply Surface Coats to bisque, add your painted design, then fire to Cone 06 for a glossy fired finish.

How Surface Coats Are Used

Apply 3 coats of Surface Coat to clean bisque.
Add decoration with Fun Strokes if required.
Fire to Cone 06.
No clear glaze is needed.

Surface Coats work well when you want a fired background colour with a gloss finish, especially for plates, ornaments and bisque shapes that will be decorated before firing.
