Warm Yellow Mid-Fire Pottery Glaze
Sunflower LoStone Mid-Fire Glaze by Valentine Clays is a warm yellow pottery glaze inspired by nature. Its bright, natural colour complements the earthy tones of the LoStone clay range, with the fired result varying according to the clay body, application and firing conditions. Supplied in a 550ml brush-on bottle, Sunflower has an overall firing range of 1080°C–1220°C, becoming reactive between 1120°C and 1220°C.
Developed to complement LoStone clay, Sunflower can also be used with compatible porcelain and earthenware bodies. It is fully intermixable with other glazes in the LoStone collection, allowing you to explore new shades, and can be layered using a maximum of three coats in total. Each bottle includes a reusable inner cap to help prevent leaks and keep the glaze securely sealed between uses.
Sunflower may show greater shade variation on LoStone Ember, Shale and Dune because of their higher iron oxide content. Application and individual firing conditions can also influence the result. Always choose a firing temperature suitable for both your clay and glaze, and make a test tile with your chosen combination before glazing a finished piece.
