Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney returned in June 2026 for another memorable summer pottery show, set against the backdrop of Compton Verney’s historic house and sweeping lakeside views.
Under a series of large, open-sided marquees on the immaculate lawns, ceramic artists from across the UK and beyond showcased their work. Visitors browsed functional and sculptural ceramics, spoke directly to makers, and enjoyed one of the most atmospheric ceramic trade exhibitions of the year.
Compton Verney itself is an award-winning arts venue set in 120 acres of Lancelot “Capability” Brown parkland – just fifteen minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon and Royal Leamington Spa, and less than half an hour from Coventry. Potfest by the Lake brought together around 90 ceramic makers, making it a fantastic event for collectors, studio potters and clay enthusiasts alike.

The Cromartie team attended Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney 2026 and enjoyed chatting with customers throughout the weekend. Lots of visitors came to talk to us about kilns, wheels, bisque, glazes, underglazes, tools and studio essentials, from busy pottery studios and Paint Your Own Pottery venues to hobby potters looking for advice and inspiration.
It was a lovely opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new customers, answer questions, and talk all things ceramics in a beautiful lakeside setting.
As with other Potfest shows, the event included the popular Potters’ Competition, where potters were invited to enter a piece responding to the event theme.
Visitors were able to vote for their favourite piece on the day, with the chance to win a Potfest Passport — free entry to all Potfest events for life.
