Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October 2026

Opening times:
Saturday 10am – 5pm  |  Sunday 10am – 4.30pm

Only Clay is a contemporary ceramics fair set in the heart of Sheffield’s industrial past at Kelham Island Museum. Held each year, the show brings together potters, collectors and clay lovers to celebrate modern ceramics – from functional tableware to expressive sculptural work – against the backdrop of Sheffield’s steelmaking heritage.

Take a look at Simon’s video showcase from our stand at Only Clay. We had the Milton Bridge By the Sea glazes on display, alongside a wide range of kilns, machinery, potters’ wheels, Valentine clays and much more. We loved meeting everyone who stopped by, and were delighted that many customers went home with great show-only deals.

About Only Clay & Kelham Island

Welcome to Kelham Island Museum mural on the side of a red brick industrial building in Sheffield

At Only Clay, “meet the potters” is more than a slogan – it’s what the weekend is all about. Visitors can talk directly to makers about their processes, influences and firing methods, and discover new work from both established potters and emerging artists. The After Show Party at The Mill Owners offers live music and a relaxed chance for potters and visitors to catch up, swap ideas and celebrate a shared love of ceramics.

There’s plenty to explore on the doorstep too. Kelham Island Museum sits in one of Sheffield’s most characterful quarters, with historic industrial buildings, cafés, bars and the museum itself to discover. Find out more about the museum and local area at Sheffield Museums – Kelham Island Museum .
