Heathland-Inspired Purple Mid-Fire Pottery Glaze
Heather LoStone Mid-Fire Glaze by Valentine Clays brings a subtle
purple colour to ceramic surfaces, inspired by wild heathland and
soft natural landscapes. Its gentle character complements both
light and dark clay bodies and works alongside the wider LoStone
palette. Supplied in a 550ml brush-on bottle, Heather can be used
individually or combined with other glazes in the collection.
Heather has an overall firing range of 1080°C–1220°C,
with reactive effects developing between 1120°C and 1220°C.
Intermix it with other LoStone glazes to create new shades, or layer
different colours to explore surface effects, using no more than
three coats in total. Developed to complement LoStone clay bodies,
it can also be used with compatible porcelain and earthenware.
Always test your chosen clay, glaze combination and firing
temperature before glazing a finished piece.
