The autumn Potfest in the Pens is the late-season edition of the original UK potters’ market, perfectly timed for visitors starting their Christmas shopping. Held undercover at Skirsgill Auction Mart on the outskirts of Penrith, the show brings together a fresh line-up of exhibitors in a characterful cattle-market setting – just remember to bring a warm layer as the building can be chilly in late October.
The Cromartie team will be at Potfest in the Pens Autumn with a trade stand offering kilns, bisque, glazes, underglazes, tools and essential studio equipment. Come and talk to us about setting up or growing your pottery or Paint-Your-Own Pottery studio, or for advice on kilns, firing schedules and materials – whether you’re just starting out or planning your next big step. Collecting an Order from Our Trade Stand Place your order online and select collection at checkout, adding a note saying: “Collecting at Potfest in the Pens Autumn 2026.” We’ll bring it along for you to pick up from our stand during the show.
Due to transport and trade stand space limitations, all orders for event collection must be placed a minimum of three working days before the event.

Autumn Potfest in the Pens takes the same relaxed, down-to-earth format as the spring event, but with a completely different set of exhibitors and a distinctly seasonal feel. Visitors can browse work from well-established makers alongside exciting new potters, with everything from refined functional ware to bold sculptural pieces – ideal for early Christmas gifts or a treat for your own home or studio.
There’s no gallery glitz here – just potters and public meeting face-to-face in a bustling artisan marketplace, sheltered from the Cumbrian weather in the pens and walkways of Skirsgill Auction Mart. Free parking and on-site catering make it an easy day out whether you’re a collector, a maker, or simply curious about ceramics.
