Dune LoStone Clay – Warm Buff Low-Fire Stoneware (10kg)
Dune LoStone is a warm, buff-firing low-fire stoneware clay supplied in 10kg bags. With its natural earthy tone,
lightly textured surface and excellent workability, Dune is ideal for both functional pottery and decorative studio
pieces. Firing across a 1060ºC–1220ºC range, it offers true stoneware strength and durability at lower kiln
temperatures, helping you save energy without compromising performance.
- Colour: Warm buff / natural stone
- Firing range: 1060ºC – 1220ºC (typically vitrified around 1160ºC)
- Texture: Fine, lightly textured surface with subtle speckling
- Suitable for: Throwing, modelling and hand-building functional or decorative ware
Based on fireclay ingredients, Dune LoStone has a responsive feel on the wheel, trims cleanly and stands up well to
hand-building and modelling. Once vitrified, it delivers the strength, durability and character associated with
traditional high-fire stoneware bodies, but at significantly lower firing temperatures. The warm buff colour works
beautifully with stoneware and mid-fire glazes, slips, stains and oxides, giving rich, natural results that suit
everything from tableware and studio ranges to sculptural work.
