Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring is the original UK potters’ market, held in the covered pens at Skirsgill Auction Mart on the edge of Penrith. Expect a lively mix of established makers and new voices, with everything from refined studio porcelain to earthy sculptural work, all shown in a relaxed, down-to-earth setting.
Across the three days you’ll find free throwing lessons, hand-building workshops and demonstrations, so visitors can roll up their sleeves and try working with clay as well as browsing and buying from the stands.
The Cromartie team will be at Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring throughout the weekend with a trade stand stocked with kilns, bisque, glazes, underglazes, tools and studio essentials. Come and chat to us about setting up or expanding a pottery or Paint-Your-Own Pottery studio, or for advice on kilns, firing schedules, materials and more. Collecting an Order from Our Trade Stand Place your order online and select collection at checkout, adding a note saying: “Collecting at Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring 2026.” We’ll bring it along for you to pick up from our stand.
Due to transport and trade stand space limitations, all orders for event collection must be placed a minimum of three working days before the event.
If you are planning to place a larger order, including pallet quantities, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm transport arrangements and available space at the show.
Established in 1994, Potfest in the Pens is known for its friendly, no-frills atmosphere – no gallery glitz, just potters and visitors sharing a passion for clay. Exhibitors range from long-established potters to artists selling their work for the first time, creating a bustling marketplace of styles, techniques and price points.
As well as the main stands, there is a potters’ competition based on a shared theme, with visitors invited to vote for their favourite piece. There’s on-site catering, free parking (including accessible parking) and step-free access throughout most of the venue. Please note that some exhibitors may be unable to take card payments, so it’s worth bringing cash or a cheque book as a backup.
