Now in its sixth year, Potfest South West is set to be a highlight of the ceramics calendar in 2026. Held in the heart of Dorset at Motcombe Turnpike Showground (midway between Shaftesbury and Gillingham), the show brings together outstanding makers for a brilliant weekend of clay.

Discover a wide range of handmade ceramics from around 90 selected potters and ceramic artists — from functional pottery to decorative work — with pieces to suit all tastes and budgets. It’s a relaxed, friendly event where you can meet the makers and buy direct.

A gallery of 2026 exhibitors will be published early in the New Year.

Visit the Cromartie Stand

The Cromartie team will be there across the weekend. Come and chat to us about kilns, wheels, bisque, glazes, tools, and studio essentials — whether you’re a hobby potter, an established maker, or running a pottery or Paint Your Own Pottery studio.

Collecting an Order from Our Trade Stand
Place your order online and select collection at checkout, adding a note saying: “Collecting at Potfest South West – Shaftesbury”.
We’ll bring it along for you to collect from our stand.

Event Collection – Important Information

Due to transport and trade stand space limitations, all orders for event collection must be placed a minimum of three working days before the event.

If you are planning to place a larger order, including pallet quantities, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm transport arrangements and available space at the show.

Potters’ Competition

At each Potfest show, potters are invited to enter a piece responding to a theme. The theme for the 2026 Potfest events will be announced early in the New Year.

Vote for your favourite on the day for a chance to win a Potfest Passport — free entry to all Potfest events for life.

Visitor Information & FAQs

  • Tickets: Admission tickets will also be available to buy at the gate each day.
  • Getting there: Parking is free at the venue. A free shuttle bus runs from the car park.
  • Location: Motcombe Turnpike Showground, Shaftesbury, SP7 9PL
  • Trade stands: Trade stands present at the show will be announced early in the New Year.
  • Food & drink: Refreshments are available on site.
  • Payment: Some exhibitors may not be able to process card payments — bring cash and/or a cheque book.
  • Access: Outdoor event on uneven ground/grass which may make movement difficult. Contact the organisers if you have concerns.
  • Dogs: Guide dogs and other well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
