ES40 Earthstone is a premium, off white handbuilding clay formulated for heavy sculptural work and tile making. It contains coarse molochite grog for exceptional strength and resistance to warping, making it ideal for large or detailed hand-built pieces. With a studio-friendly firing range of 1120ºc–1280ºc, ES40 gives artists a reliable, robust body for demanding projects.

ES40’s coarse texture gives excellent structural support during forming and drying, so it’s well suited to sculptors and makers producing heavy or thin-edged work. The added grog improves handling and reduces shrinkage issues, allowing confident construction of tiles, murals and sculptural forms. Use glazes and surface treatments designed for stoneware firings within its 1120ºc–1280ºc range for best results.
