ES50 Crank Earthstone Clay – Coarse Buff Hand-Building Body (12.5kg)
ES50 Crank Earthstone is an open-textured, coarsely grogged clay that combines robustness and plasticity — ideal for hand-builders and sculptors. It has excellent warp resistance and low shrinkage, giving you strength in both greenware and fired states. With a firing range of 1120ºc–1280ºc, it works very well for slab construction and even raku firing.

The coarse grog in ES50 gives it a strong, resilient structure that stays stable during drying and firing, helping reduce warping or cracking. Its open texture retains a surprisingly good plasticity, making it versatile for creative hand-built forms. Under oxidation, it fires to a toasted buff, while in reduction or raku atmospheres it develops a warm, speckled orange-buff tone.
