Glossy Blue-Brown Mid-Fire Glaze for Variegated & Layered Effects

Blue Tiger’s Eye Speedball Mid-Fire Glaze develops a glossy, highly variegated surface with cascading blues and warm rutile-brown undertones. It responds strongly to texture and glaze thickness, allowing raised details, recessed areas and heavier application to produce noticeable shifts in colour rather than a flat, uniform blue finish.

Firing temperature also changes the result. The supplied Cone 5 test shows darker deep-brown and dark-blue variation, while Cone 6 produces lighter blue variegation with brown where the glaze is thinner. Blue Tiger’s Eye is also well suited to layering, with the supplied Cone 6 examples showing distinct results over Blackcurrant, Blue Topaz, Blushing White and Sea Glass.

Stir thoroughly before use and apply three heavy coats for the supplied standard test result.
No slow cooling is recommended for the supplied firing test.
For the shown layering combinations, apply two coats of Blue Tiger’s Eye over two coats of the chosen base glaze and fire to Cone 6.
Follow the specific firing instructions for your kiln and glazing process.

Subject to exceptions, we are happy to accept returns of incorrectly ordered or mispicked items within 28 days of delivery. Your 28 day period begins on the date shown at the top of your invoice.
