Soft Pearl Crystalline Effects for Cone 6 Ceramics
Antique Pearl C6 Pro Series Crystalline Glaze develops a pale pearl-white surface scattered with warm cream crystal formations, giving the fired piece a softly changing pattern rather than a uniform block of colour. Its light neutral palette is particularly effective on tall vessels, broad panels and simple ceramic forms where the crystal growth can become the main decorative feature.
Choose this glaze when you want the movement and individuality of a crystalline surface while keeping the overall colour light and understated. Application thickness, clay body and firing conditions all affect the balance of crystal size and glaze movement, so test the complete process before important work and follow the supplied firing schedule carefully.
- Use a glaze catcher or sacrificial support because crystalline glazes can run during firing
- Keep a thinner application near the foot of the piece to help control glaze movement
- Add Powder Gum Arabic as required when a thicker application is needed
