M-Flange Kiln Thermocouple- 6 Inch R Type (6"BM/72/R8)
Suitable for Cromartie front-loading kilns.
Various sizes available — please select your chosen thermocouple from the drop-down box.
If unsure, contact our kiln technical team (details below).
The M-Flange Thermocouple is designed specifically for use in Cromartie front-loading electric kilns.
Built for accuracy, durability and consistent performance, this thermocouple provides reliable
temperature readings throughout the firing cycle, ensuring even heat distribution and stable
controller operation.
The M-flange mounting design allows the thermocouple to be fitted securely through the kiln wall
using a standard flange plate. This ensures correct positioning inside the firing chamber and
prevents movement, vibration or drift over time — essential for maintaining consistent firing results.
As with all kiln thermocouples, the tip should protrude at least 1 inch into the kiln chamber.
This ensures the controller reads the true internal temperature rather than surface heat, helping
prevent under- or over-firing.
When replacing an existing thermocouple, always check the old one for signs of wear, corrosion
or breakage. A damaged or incorrectly positioned thermocouple may cause firing inconsistencies,
controller errors or inaccurate temperature readings.
Designed for Cromartie Front-Loading Kilns
