Iridescent Mother of Pearl Lustre for Glazed Ware
Mother of Pearl Colorobbia Lustre is an iridescent overglaze for glazed earthenware, porcelain and stoneware. It is applied after the piece has already been glazed and fired, adding a soft pearl rainbow effect to decorative details, smooth surfaces and raised areas.
Use a smooth, soft brush to apply a thin, even layer to a completely dry glazed surface, then fire through a lustre firing. Mother of Pearl is sensitive to application thickness, so small tests are recommended before using it on larger or repeat work.

- Ceramic firing: 690°C – 700°C, Orton Cone 018
- Porcelain firing: 750°C – 815°C, Orton Cone 017 – 015
- Recommended dilution: 5% – 15% with HTL199 thinner
- Decorative use only; not food safe
Note: Keep brushes, bottles and tools free from water during use. Always test on a small piece first, as firing conditions, kiln performance and application thickness can affect results.
