Mottled Olive Stoneware Glaze for Textured Pottery
Pickle Milton Bridge dry stoneware glaze produces the softly varied fired surface shown in the sample, combining pale olive-green and creamy tones with warmer brown mottling around the raised leaf detail. The broken colour gives carved, impressed and relief decoration extra definition, making it a useful choice where the character of the ceramic surface is intended to remain visible.
Choose Pickle when you want an earthy green-toned result with more natural colour movement than a visually uniform glaze. This is a powdered glaze rather than a ready-to-use liquid product, and the clay-free recipe is prepared with water and brushing medium before application; follow the measured mixing, coat and firing guidance below for consistent preparation.
- Brushing medium supports adhesion to the ceramic body
- The medium helps reduce settling and extend shelf life
- It also helps minimise crazing during firing
