Deep Charcoal-Brown Powdered Glaze for Stoneware

Dark Chocolate Milton Bridge Stoneware Glaze develops a very dark charcoal-brown fired surface with subtle warmer undertones rather than reading as a flat black. Its restrained colour can work particularly well across carved, impressed or textured pottery, where changes in the surface catch the light and allow the ceramic detail to remain visible.

Choose Dark Chocolate when you want a deep earthy neutral that gives stoneware a darker visual weight while retaining brown character. The 1kg dry format is useful for smaller glaze batches and testing, and the fired result can vary with clay body, application and firing conditions, so establish the preferred result on labelled test pieces first.

  • Test the glaze on the intended clay body before glazing important work.
  • Compare smooth and textured samples to assess how surface detail affects the appearance.
  • Keep a fired reference tile and preparation notes for repeat batches.
