Soft Powder-Blue Glaze for Detailed Stoneware Surfaces
Crystalline Blue Milton Bridge Stoneware Glaze develops a soft powder-blue fired surface with fine blue speckling and slightly deeper colour around impressed detail. The gentle variation can complement carved, stamped or textured stoneware especially well, allowing raised and recessed decoration to remain visible while giving the surrounding ceramic surface a calm, light blue colour.
Choose Crystalline Blue when you want a paler blue alternative to deeper, more dominant blue glazes while still retaining subtle tonal movement. The 1kg dry format provides a practical quantity for testing and smaller batches; because clay body, preparation, application and firing conditions can influence the result, establish the preferred appearance on representative test pieces before glazing important work.
- Compare smooth and textured test pieces to assess how the blue responds around surface detail.
- Use the intended clay body for test firings wherever possible.
- Retain a labelled fired sample to help compare future batches.
