Transparent Matte Blue with a Smooth Sea-Glass Surface
Sea Glass Blue C6 Pro Series Stoneware Glaze combines transparent colour with a matte fired surface. Its soft blue tone allows throwing lines, raised decoration and shallow texture to remain visible, while the smooth, almost waxy character gives the finished pottery a tactile sea-glass quality rather than the reflection of a conventional gloss glaze.
Choose this glaze when you want translucent blue depth with a softer, lower-sheen surface instead of opaque coverage or a bright gloss. Clay body, application thickness, layering and kiln conditions can change the colour and transparency, so compare smooth and textured test pieces before applying a new method or combination across a full batch.
- Compare smooth and relief test pieces to assess how the surface responds to texture.
- Keep single-glaze and layered tests clearly labelled for later comparison.
- Add Powder Gum Arabic as required for a thicker applied finish.
