Weathered Copper-Green Patina for Cone 6 Pottery
Green Patina C6 Pro Series Stoneware Glaze develops a matte green surface that changes with application thickness. A thicker coat can produce a weathered copper-green patina, while thinner areas move towards dark greenish-black with bronze colouring. The shifting tones work especially well on thrown ridges, carved texture and forms where surface variation can emphasise detail.
Choose this glaze when you want an aged copper-like green rather than a uniform opaque colour. Its response to thickness makes testing especially useful: compare thin and thick applications on the intended clay body, then record any layered combinations and kiln conditions before using the glaze across important work or a full batch.
- When brushing, consider adding brushing medium before application.
- Label layered tests with the order in which each glaze was applied.
- Use Powder Gum Arabic as required for a thicker applied finish.
