Golden Yellow-Tan Colour with Creamy Thick Application
Golden Tan C6 Pro Series Stoneware Glaze develops a warm golden yellow-to-tan semi-matte surface when applied thinly, while thicker areas become creamier and lighter. This changing response gives ridged vessels, carved details and softly textured pieces tonal movement, allowing the colour to follow the form rather than appearing completely flat.
Choose Golden Tan when you want an earthy neutral with more variation than a uniform beige or brown glaze. Reduction firing can shift the result towards burnt yellow-tan, while thicker application can develop a slight orange-peel texture. Test the intended clay body, thickness and any layered combination before applying it across a full batch.
- Keep reduction-fired samples clearly labelled for later comparison.
- When brushing, consider adding a small amount of brushing medium before application.
- Add Powder Gum Arabic as required for a thicker applied finish.
