Transparent Amber Gloss for Cone 6 Pottery
Amber Clear C6 Pro Series Stoneware Glaze develops a transparent amber gloss with a warm golden-brown colour. Its clear, coloured surface suits pottery where the clay body, throwing lines or carved detail should remain part of the finished appearance rather than being hidden beneath a completely opaque glaze.
Choose this glaze when you want an amber-tinted transparent surface rather than an opaque brown or a colourless clear finish. Reduction firing can deepen the amber result, while application thickness, clay body, layering and kiln conditions can also affect the final surface, so compare labelled test tiles before glazing a full batch.
- Test different application thicknesses and layered combinations separately.
- Record the firing atmosphere alongside each test result.
- Add Powder Gum Arabic as required when a thicker applied finish is needed.
