Deep Teal Crystal-Effect Glaze with Pale Starburst Blooms
Sea Urchin Cromartie Crystals Glaze creates a deep teal and blue-green fired surface broken by lighter crystal blooms and branching starburst patterns. The cool colour combination works particularly well when you want decorative pottery to have noticeable movement and contrast rather than a completely uniform teal surface.
During firing, the crystals move and spread through the glaze, so each piece can develop a different balance of darker colour, pale bursts and speckled detail. Glaze application, crystal placement, firing temperature, clay body and the angle or shape of the ceramic surface can all influence the final pattern.
- Plan crystal placement with the finished decorative pattern in mind.
- Test on your chosen clay body and ceramic form when a consistent effect is important.
- Check the product label for recommended application and firing guidance.
