Warm Ochre Crystalline Glaze with Pale Starburst Growth
Yellow Jasper Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops pale golden starburst formations across warm ochre and amber tones. The fired sample shows radiating crystals appearing at different sizes across a mottled earthy surface, creating a structured mineral effect with noticeable movement rather than an even single-colour finish.
Choose Yellow Jasper when you want a warm crystalline palette with defined starburst growth as a prominent part of the decoration. Crystal size, colour and distribution can change with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so use the fired sample as a guide and test your chosen application and firing schedule before using the glaze on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
