Layered Golden-Yellow Crystalline Glaze with Radial Crystal Growth
Yellow Calcite Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops overlapping pale golden-yellow and cream radial crystals across a warm amber-gold fired surface. The layered formations create noticeable tonal depth and surface movement, making the crystalline pattern itself an important part of the finished decoration rather than producing a flat, uniform yellow colour.
Choose Yellow Calcite when you want a warm crystalline surface with overlapping crystal growth and softer golden contrast. Crystal size, colour and distribution can change with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so treat the fired sample as a guide and test your chosen application and firing schedule before using the glaze on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
