Mossy Green Crystalline Glaze with Dark Earthy Contrast
Rhyolite Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops rounded mossy green crystal clusters across a dark brown-grey gloss surface. The scattered green formations vary in size and shape, creating an organic mineral appearance with strong contrast between the crystalline growth and the deeper background tones.
Choose Rhyolite when you want clearly visible green crystalline development with a darker, earthier overall character. Crystal size, colour and distribution can change with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so treat the fired sample as a guide and test your chosen application and firing schedule before using the glaze on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
