Honey-Gold Crystalline Glaze with Radiating Crystal Growth
Golden Tourmaline Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops warm honey-gold and cream radial crystal formations across a brown-gold gloss surface. The overlapping starburst shapes create a luminous mineral effect with areas of dense crystal growth and softer tonal variation, making the fired surface itself a strong decorative feature.
Choose Golden Tourmaline when you want a warmer crystalline result with pronounced light-to-dark contrast rather than a uniform glaze colour. Crystal size, colour and distribution can change with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so test the glaze on your chosen body and firing schedule before using it on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
