Pottery ribs are useful for shaping, smoothing and refining clay during throwing and handbuilding. These wooden and hardwood throwing ribs are hand-finished to provide a smooth working surface, giving you control when contouring forms and working across clay surfaces.
Different rib shapes suit different areas of a pot and different stages of forming. Hardwood ribs can be used for curving forms, smoothing walls, compressing clay, trimming excess material and cleaning up around the base. Choose the profile that best matches the form and type of shaping you need to carry out.
