A Soft Translucent Satin Surface for Cone 6 Ceramics
Satin Clear C6 Pro Series Dry Glaze gives ceramic work a silky satin-matt surface with strong translucency. It is a useful choice when you want a softer, lower-sheen alternative to a conventional clear gloss while still allowing more of the clay body and ceramic surface to remain visually present.
Because satin-matt surfaces naturally appear less transparent than gloss clears, Satin Clear is best chosen for its soft finish rather than maximum clarity. Mix the quantity required for studio work, test it on the intended porcelain or stoneware body and assess the fired result before moving to larger batches.
- Follow the supplied mixing guide when preparing a wet glaze batch
- Test on the intended clay body and firing schedule before larger use
- Use the fired test to judge whether the satin translucency suits the piece
