Opaque Red Variation for Cone 6 Pottery
Crocus Red C6 Pro Series Glaze produces an opaque fired red that can move from deep burgundy towards a brighter apple-red tone. This changing colour gives bowls, tiles and thrown vessels a warm, substantial surface, while the darker end of the range adds depth where a softer or less primary red is preferred.
Choose Crocus Red when you want more tonal movement than a single flat red. Once mixed, the dry glaze is suitable for dipping and layering on porcelain and stoneware work; test the intended clay body and application thickness before larger batches, as firing and glaze build can influence which part of the burgundy-to-apple spectrum is most visible.
- Compare single and layered test applications before glazing larger pieces
- Mix the quantity required for the current studio workload
- Follow the Pro Series mixing instructions when preparing the dry powder
