Tactile Matte Black Glaze for Chalk Decoration

Chalkboard Black C6 Pro Series Dry Glaze fires to a deep matte black with a smooth, almost waxy surface that can be drawn on with chalk. The restrained finish gives ridged vessels, sculptural forms and bold contemporary pieces a strong graphic character, while the tactile surface adds interest without the reflective shine of a gloss glaze.

Choose Chalkboard Black when you want a low-sheen, touchable black surface with an interactive chalk feature rather than the polished appearance of a conventional gloss black. Test the mixed glaze on the intended clay body and at the planned application thickness before full-scale use, as changes in the clay, application and firing process can affect the finished response.

  • Create a labelled test tile for each clay body and firing cycle before production work
  • Check the chalk-drawing effect on the fired test before using it as a decorative feature
  • Record batch consistency and application thickness to compare future studio mixes

Goods must be returned in a fully resaleable condition and any lids, packaging and labels must be intact. Please note, we will only refund or credit the sale value of incorrectly ordered goods – not any return postage.
