Blue-Toned Ash Character for Textured Cone 6 Work
Blue Ash C6 Pro Series Dry Glaze creates a blue-toned ash surface with darker variation, giving pottery the atmospheric character of work influenced by a wood kiln. This natural-looking response suits ribbed vessels, textured planters and sculptural forms, where the changing colour can draw attention to throwing lines, carved marks and irregular contours.
Choose Blue Ash when you want a more weathered and varied result than a clean, uniform blue glaze. Brighter clay bodies and porcelain help its blue ash character remain clearer, while some stoneware bodies can encourage movement and a darker fired colour, so test the mixed glaze on the intended body before using it across important or larger work.
- Label test tiles with the clay body, application method and batch details for easier comparison
- Trial layered combinations on small pieces before committing to larger work
- Follow the Pro Series Mixing Guide when preparing repeat studio batches
