Glossy Black Depth That Changes with Application
Black Gloss C6 Pro Series Glaze fires to a glossy black surface that can remain translucent where it is applied thin and become opaque with a heavier application. This change in depth makes it useful on thrown or textured ceramic forms, where raised areas, grooves and the underlying clay body can influence how much colour shows through.
Choose this glaze when you want a dark, reflective finish with more visual variation than a uniformly opaque black. Because the result responds to application thickness and the clay body beneath it, prepare a labelled test piece before a larger studio batch and compare thinner and heavier areas after firing.
- Label test pieces by clay body and application thickness
- Compare thin and heavier areas before glazing a larger batch
- Follow the dedicated mixing guide when preparing the wet glaze
