Powdered Raku Glaze for a Red Metallic Effect
Red Raku Glaze is a dry Milton Bridge glaze for producing a variable red metallic-effect surface through Raku firing. Its changing colour and appearance suit ceramic work where the individual response of the firing process is intended to remain visible in the finished result.
Choose the 1kg powder when you need a smaller dry-glaze quantity that can be mixed to suit the selected application technique. Begin with the recommended ratio, introduce any additional water gradually and test the glaze before important work because Raku results can vary considerably between firings.
- Mix thoroughly before adjusting the consistency
- Add extra water in small, controlled stages
- Record the final mixture and application thickness for comparison tests
