Bulk Dry Raku Glaze for Black Metallic Surfaces
Black Raku Glaze develops a variable black metallic effect through the Raku firing and reduction process. The natural changes in colour and surface appearance make it suitable for ceramic work where individual firing results are valued instead of a completely consistent glaze finish.
Choose the 25kg powdered format when a larger quantity is required for repeated mixing or a substantial body of work. Measure each batch consistently, make further water adjustments in small stages and test the prepared glaze before wider use because mixing, application and firing conditions can affect the outcome.
- Measure each batch consistently before making adjustments
- Keep written mixing and application records for comparison tests
- Use test pieces before applying a newly mixed batch more widely
