Powdered Raku Glaze for a Black Metallic Effect
Black Raku Glaze is a dry Milton Bridge glaze for producing a variable black metallic-effect surface through Raku firing. Its changing colour and appearance suit ceramic work where the individual character of the firing is intended to remain visible rather than creating a fixed, uniform result.
Choose the 1kg powder when you want to prepare the glaze for your selected application technique without moving to the larger 25kg quantity. Begin with the recommended mixing ratio, introduce any additional water gradually and test the glaze before important work because its fired appearance can vary considerably.
- Add extra water in small, controlled stages when adjusting consistency
- Record the final mixture and application method for repeat tests
- Treat reference results as guidance rather than an exact colour guarantee
