Dry Raku Glaze for Weathered Metallic Surfaces
Alligator Raku Glaze creates an irregular metallic surface with silvery grey, muted green and darker areas that give fired pieces an aged, organic character. The mottled response suits sculptural pottery, textured vessels and relief decoration where changes across the surface can emphasise the form.
Choose the 1kg dry-powder format when you want to mix the glaze for your selected application method without committing to the larger 25kg pack or the ready-mixed brush-on option. Build the consistency gradually and test the applied thickness before important work, as the colour and surface response can vary between Raku firings.
- Add extra water in small stages when adjusting the mixed glaze
- Record the final consistency and applied thickness for repeat tests
- Use test pieces to assess variation before glazing important work
