Bright Sky Blue with Soft White Running Effects
Bring fresh blue colour and varied surface effects to stoneware with BOTZ Bright Blue Effect Stoneware Glaze. This glossy effect glaze develops from a greyish blue with small light effects at lower temperatures to a brighter light blue with white effects as the firing temperature increases.
Apply 2–3 coats, with BOTZ recommending 3 coats for the strongest result. Locally thicker application can create light running effects, although the glaze itself is stated not to run off. Fire between 1220°C and 1280°C with a 30-minute soak. BOTZ describes the glaze as most attractive from 1250°C upwards; when firing at 1280°C, apply only 2 coats around the bottom area of vessels. This product uses the updated BOTZ formula introduced in June 2024.
