Kiln firing information
White earthenware firing temperature: 1060°C–1160°C. The clay fires to cone 01. When using hobby ceramic glazes such as Duncan or Gare, follow the firing schedule below.
- Pack size: 12.5kg
- Clay type: soft earthenware
- Suitable for: hand and foot imprints
- Firing range: 1060°C–1160°C
- Firing result: cone 01
- Glazed pieces: re-fire to cone 06
Before use, knead the clay to even out its moisture content and expel any air bubbles. Avoid using it straight from the bag, as inconsistencies in moisture can cause warping or cracking.
When using hobby ceramic glazes such as Duncan or Gare, we recommend a 10-hour programme: hold at 80°C, rise to 600°C, then continue at full power to 1120°C with a 15-minute soak. The clay fires to cone 01. Once glazed, re-fire to cone 06.
