  Description

Bright Blue Earthenware Engobe for Bold Sgraffito Contrast

Bright Blue BOTZ Earthenware Engobe creates a strong blue surface with an earthy matt character when left without overglazing. The deeper blue ground gives decorative linework plenty of presence: pale lines can create a lighter, open pattern against the colour, while darker outlines produce a sharper graphic contrast, as seen across the shell designs.

Sgraffito lets the blue engobe become part of the design by cutting patterns through the coloured surface, while slight dilution makes it suitable for marbling on soaked biscuit-fired or leather-hard clay. A thin transparent overglaze increases the colour intensity when a brighter result is wanted instead of the softer un-overglazed matt surface.

Goods must be returned in a fully resaleable condition and any lids, packaging and labels must be intact. Please note, we will only refund or credit the sale value of incorrectly ordered goods – not any return postage.
